Fo-cizothè Bî

Fo-cizothè Bî (/fo/ /ciˈzoθè/ [mint] [locker]) is a subtropical Town located in the Lêtdêsara Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Fo-cizothè Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Fo-cizothè Bî was founded by Shëg̈mëm Zêbm Zèdsmêv, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Fo-cizothè Bî has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Fo-cizothè Bî receives an average of 273 cm/y (107 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Fo-cizothè Bî covers an area of nearly 5 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 2516 m (8254 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Fo-cizothè Bî was founded durring the early 14th century in fall of the year 1346, by Shëg̈mëm Zêbm Zèdsmêv. The establishment of Fo-cizothè Bî was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Shëg̈mëm Zêbm Zèdsmêv struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Fo-cizothè Bî as a prison colony.

Fo-cizothè Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fo-cizothè Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Fo-cizothè Bî is is constructed arround a semi-circular spacious baked earthen mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Fo-cizothè Bî's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. Fo-cizothè Bî's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

A look around Fo-cizothè Bî seems to be home to a quite vibrant and boisterous community. Everywhere one looks they can see people going out their daily business with a smile and a spring in their step. Children play loudly in the streets, causing untold havoc as youth are want and allowed to do. On second glance, that chaos continues into adulthood. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Yet there are small elements here and there which show the underlying structure of the community. It’s just so complex, organic, and flowing one can only understand what is a piece of the puzzle, but not what its neighbors are.

Fo-cizothè Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Fo-cizothè Bî has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Fo-cizothè Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Fo-cizothè Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Fo-cizothè Bî possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Fo-cizothè Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Fo-cizothè Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Fo-cizothè Bî is home to a distinct subculture, who are either the majority here or have the dominant positions in the community. Architecture, local laws, and social customs are all tuned to suit them, and they may not be particularly forgiving or friendly to the major culture of the region. Communities that are not outright independent usually make an arm's-length submission to a local lord.

Fo-cizothè Bî's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.

In Fo-cizothè Bî every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.
